Graveyard Keeper 2 Crafting Stations — Full List
All 85 Graveyard Keeper 2 crafting stations grouped by mastery branch, the GK1-to-GK2 workbench renames, and the extension parts 75 recipes require.
How many crafting stations are in Graveyard Keeper 2?
The wikily dataset returns 85 crafting station records, and that is the number this page uses. The same site’s crafting-stations page copy says 84, and nothing public explains the difference, so treat 84 as a stale page figure rather than a separate build of the game.
The 85 records split into nine station categories. Only some of them are the hands-on workbenches most players mean when they say “crafting station” — the rest are plots, zombie posts, conveyor workstations and one-time repairs.
| Category | Records | What it actually does |
|---|---|---|
| Workbench | 24 | Manual stations: you load inputs and advance the ticks yourself |
| Farming | 13 | Garden beds, vine trellises and the garden well |
| Morgue | 12 | Autopsy, embalming, cremation and resurrection-lab machines |
| Auto-crafter | 10 | Load inputs, then it finishes on its own while burning Fuel |
| Factory | 9 | Conveyor-line workstations worked by zombies |
| Repair | 7 | One-time fixes: bridge, doors, hatch, underground well |
| Zombie workstation | 6 | Gathering posts a zombie works without supervision |
| Storage | 3 | Converts stored goods: Firewood shed I/II and Flask shelf |
| Alchemy | 1 | The Alchemy Workbench |
What are the five mastery branches for crafting stations?
Every station except one is filed under a mastery branch: Building, Smithing, Farming, Book writing or Anatomy. Those five branches are the spine of GK2’s progression, and a station’s branch decides which character levels gate its recipes and how fast a high-level crafter finishes them.
One record, the Beehive, has no mastery branch listed in the dataset. The remaining 84 all sit on exactly one branch.
| Mastery branch | Stations | Typical examples |
|---|---|---|
| Farming | 30 | Kitchen Table, Millstone, Garden Bed, Brewing Stand |
| Building | 24 | Sawhorse, Circular Saw, Woodworking Workbench I/II, Stonemason’s Workbench |
| Anatomy | 15 | Formulation Bench, Autopsy Table I/II, Crematorium I/II, PR Machine I–V |
| Smithing | 12 | Furnace I/II, Wooden/Iron/Steel Anvil, Sluice Box, Jewelry Table |
| Book writing | 3 | Writing Desk, Paper Press, Printing Press |
| No mastery listed | 1 | Beehive |
Mastery also sets crafting speed. Progress per tick equals your mastery in the branch divided by the recipe’s required mastery, rounded down and capped at 3, so working a recipe at double its requirement halves both the ticks and the energy bill.

The table below groups the stations that actually produce things you will use, sorted by mastery branch. Families that share a recipe pool are collapsed into one row, so Woodworking Workbench I and II appear together and PR Machine I through V appear as a single entry.

Why do GK2 station names look nothing like Graveyard Keeper 1?
Because Graveyard Keeper 2 rebuilt the station list around new mastery branches instead of keeping the original names. The five crafting benches returning players remember from GK1 were renamed or split, and two entirely new station families — Factory and Morgue — have no GK1 counterpart at all.
That rename is the single biggest source of confusion for returning players. A guide telling you to “build a stonemason’s bench” is now correct; one telling you to build a “stone cutter” is describing GK1.
| GK1 station | GK2 equivalent |
|---|---|
| Carpentry workbench | Woodworking Workbench I and II |
| Stonemason’s bench | Stonemason’s Workbench |
| Blacksmith’s anvil | Wooden Anvil → Iron Anvil → Steel Anvil |
| Alchemy bench | Alchemy Workbench plus Formulation Bench |
| Church workbench | Writing Desk |
| No GK1 equivalent | Factory line: Assembly bench I–III, Smithy I–II, Kitchen I–II, Bioreactor |
| No GK1 equivalent | Morgue: Autopsy Table I–II, Embalming Table I–II, Crematorium I–II, Resurrection Table I, PR Machine I–V |
What are extensions and which stations need them?
Extensions are GK2’s new gating mechanism. Seventy-five recipes stay locked until you build a specific attachment next to the station, even when you already own the materials and the mastery level. The requirement is recorded in the dataset and independently listed by Fextralife.
The named attachments are a Tool Rack or Fine Tool Rack beside the woodworking and stonemason benches, a Hardening Bucket beside the anvils, and Bellows or a Casting Table beside the furnaces. Factory workstations have their own set: Auto-hammer, Drill press, Lathe, Sewing machine and Spinning wheel.
The — entries in the station tables above mean the dataset does not record an extension for that station. It does not mean the station has none.
Which station lines should you build first?
Build the lumber chain first: Sawhorse to Circular Saw to Chopping Spot feeds every plank and fuel recipe in the game. After that, the order that pays off fastest is woodworking, stone, smelting, then the paper and prayer chain, because each one unlocks the materials the next one consumes.
- Lumber and woodworking — Sawhorse → Circular Saw → Woodworking Workbench I/II, covered in the iron and materials chain.
- Stone — Stonemason’s Workbench plus Potter’s Wheel and Kiln.
- Smelting — Furnace I/II and the Wooden → Iron → Steel Anvil ladder.
- Textiles — Spinning Wheel and Weaving Loom, both cheap and both gating every cloth recipe.
- Food — Kitchen Table and Millstone for stamina-efficient meals.
- Alchemy — Formulation Bench, Distillation Cube, Flask shelf and the Alchemy Workbench; see the alchemy formula list before you spend Science.
- Writing — Writing Desk, Paper Press and Printing Press, starting with where to build the Writing Desk.
- Anatomy — Crematorium, Autopsy Table, Resurrection Table and the PR Machines.
Two of those lines are much bigger projects than the rest. The Factory conveyor stations only matter once zombies are staffing them, which is why the zombie production line and the factory power guide come before any Assembly bench upgrade. The tech side of the same unlock order is mapped in the tech tree overview.
