Graveyard Keeper 2 Bioreactor — Zombie Power Guide
The Graveyard Keeper 2 Bioreactor makes Zombie Power from Wheat, unlocked by the Bioreactor tech. Factory line stations, power uses and the PR and supply chain.
What does the Bioreactor do in Graveyard Keeper 2?
It converts Wheat into Zombie Power for the factory line. The dataset registers exactly one recipe at mastery 1, and the station auto-crafts: start the recipe and it finishes on its own while supplied.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Station | Bioreactor (Factory, Farming branch) |
| Recipe | 5 Wheat → 1 Zombie Power |
| Ticks | 10 |
| Build cost | 10 Glass + 8 Bronze Gear + 6 Advanced Detail |
| Tech unlock | Bioreactor, 130 red + 20 blue (Building) |
Treat it as a factory project, not a garden project. It lives in the Factory branch beside Smithy II and the kitchens, so its Wheat arrives by conveyor and supplier rather than by hand. The power arithmetic for that branch — demand versus capacity — is in the factory power guide.
Which factory stations sit on the same line?
The conveyor variants are the only stations that join a belt run: Assembly bench I to III, Smithy I and II, Kitchen I and II, plus the Bioreactor supplying power. A normal workstation placed beside the line will not participate, and a factory bench with no zombie on it will not either.
| Station | Tech unlock | Build cost | Main outputs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Assembly bench I | Assembly bench, 75 red + 20 blue | 6 Reinforced Plank, 4 Bronze Detail, 4 Bronze Gear | Wooden Kit I, Supply: Iron, Stone Kit, Crate |
| Assembly bench II | Assembly bench II | 6 Reinforced Beam, 8 Bronze Gear, 6 Advanced Detail | Furniture Kit I, Supply: Clothes I, Marble Kit |
| Assembly bench III | Assembly bench III | 6 Wooden Joint, 12 Steel Screws, 4 Engineering Details | Furniture Kit II, Supply: Furniture II, Building Kit II |
| Smithy I | Smithy: Hammer | 6 Reinforced Plank, 4 Bronze Detail, 4 Bronze Gear | Iron Ingot (1 Ore + 1 Coal), Iron Kit I, Brick, Glass |
| Smithy II | Smithy II | 6 Reinforced Beam, 12 Steel Screws, 4 Engineering Details | Iron Kit II, Engineering Kit, Supply: Steel Tools |
| Kitchen I | Vegetable Supplies | 6 Reinforced Plank, 4 Bronze Gear, 4 Bronze Detail | Supply: Vegetables, Supply: Preserves I, Supply: Wine |
| Kitchen II | Preservation Supplies II | 4 Reinforced Beam, 8 Bronze Gear, 8 Advanced Detail | Supply: Preserves II and 27 conveyor recipes |
| Bioreactor | Bioreactor, 130 red + 20 blue | 10 Glass, 8 Bronze Gear, 6 Advanced Detail | Zombie Power (5 Wheat each) |
The full 85-station catalogue is in the crafting station list, and staffing order — operators, suppliers, porters — is in the zombie production line.
What is Zombie Power used for?
Four consumers take it, all on the Assembly bench line plus one quest hand-in. Every one of them is a throughput purchase rather than a player item.
| Consumer | Recipe | What it feeds |
|---|---|---|
| Supply: Appliances I | 4 Furniture Kit I + 1 Zombie Power at Assembly bench II | Town orders |
| Zombie Mechanism | 1 Engineering Kit + 1 Zombie Power at Assembly bench II | Supply: Appliances II chain |
| Supply: Engineering Mechanism | 2 Engineering Kit + 2 Zombie Power at Assembly bench II | High-tier town orders |
| Magic Mirror quest | 3 Zombie Power handed over | Story hand-in |
Because each unit costs 5 Wheat, the Bioreactor quietly competes with the kitchen for the same crop. Garden-only players should spend the 130 red and 20 blue elsewhere first; the station pays off only once Assembly bench II recipes are actually running.
How do the PR Machines raise the zombie cap?
The PR Machine line in the Resurrection Lab converts newspapers and charged hypno-devices into temporary zombie-limit increases. Charged hypno-devices themselves come from the Formulation Bench: 1 Hypno-device plus 1 Faith per pair.
| Machine | Recipe | Limit effect |
|---|---|---|
| PR Machine I | 2 Charged hypno-devices | +10 zombie limit for 1 week |
| PR Machine II | 10 Newspapers + 3 Charged hypno-devices | +20 zombie limit for 2 weeks |
| PR Machine III | 20 silver or gold Newspapers + 5 Charged hypno-devices | +30 zombie limit for 3 weeks |
| PR Machine IV | 100 silver or gold Newspapers | Higher-tier extension of the same chain |
| PR Machine V | 100 gold Newspapers | Top-tier extension of the same chain |
Machine upgrades cost woodwork and details on top: PR Machine I takes 10 Oiled Plank plus 8 Iron Detail, PR Machine II takes 6 Wooden beam plus 8 Advanced Detail, PR Machine III takes 6 Wooden Joint plus 8 Steel Detail, and PR Machine IV takes 10 Carved Wood plus 8 Engineering Details. Free workers arrive first — two from the Plague Doctor’s Sweet Dreams quest and three from Gunter at reputation 10 — so read how to get zombie workers before spending newspapers on cap space.
Where do Supply Stations and Porters fit?
They are the logistics half of the same factory. Zombie Assistant at 35 red plus 5 green unlocks the Zombie Supplier Station, and Zombie Delivery at 110 red plus 10 blue unlocks the Zombie Supply Porter plus the Supply Station. Porter Stations also arrive through Zombie Lumberjack, Zombie Stone Mining, Zombie Digging, Zombie Mining and the gardening lines, so the automation unlocks stack no matter which resource branch you finish first.
The failure modes — unarmed zombies, missing suppliers, idle lines — are collected in the common mistakes guide.
